In the eyes of a child who could rarely participate in the activities other children due to disabilities and severe illness left me with hopelessness. I watched my siblings engaging in their favorite hobbies. Though, I was in dance with them, I could not keep going, when my disease continued to worsen, leaving me in the dark. It was a horrible feeling, giving in to this problem. It was truly a struggle to let go. I was told I couldn't go back, if I quit the dance lessons, but at the time I knew I had too. After dance I felt I was the sick kid. It felt like that was all people saw, and knew. I wanted to fit in. No program felt suited to fill my needs, or keeping up with my peers, when several classes were missed due to sickness.
